Views

A list of tasks could only be narrowed one way at a time. The Tags page showed a single tag and the Completed page showed everything finished. Which work tasks are due this week and not labelled waiting had no answer short of reading the whole list.

Views are named, saved task lists. A view filters on labels, life areas, goals, priority and date, and keeps its own sorting and grouping beside those filters. Views sits in the sidebar below Upcoming; a view can be favourited, and its link opens it directly.

Each filter is one line: what you are filtering on, how, and what to match. The same thing can be filtered more than once, so one line can require a label while the next rules a different one out. Ruling things out is new. A label, area, goal or priority line reads is or is not, and is any of or is none of once you pick several values. Date lines compare before, after or on, against something moving like three days from now, or a date you pick.

Completion is a filter now rather than a display setting, so a view can hold finished tasks only. A task created inside a view is given the values that view filters for, so it doesn't vanish the moment you add it.

Labels moved here too, and Completed is now a built-in view. The Tags page and the Completed page no longer exist. Saved views are part of the paid plans.
